ABB Saudi Arabia – leading
manufacturer of power and
automation technologies had a
high cost of quality due to their
processes. This included batch
manufacture and parts
shortages.

 

EMS trained the senior
executive team and country
management. The techniques
applied included: the concept of
TAKT time, Pool Systems
(Kanban) and Standard
Operations with working
structures. This was achieved
by Lean Simulation and VSM.

 

This generated an opportunity
to move from 14 shifts to 10
shifts production a week. New
working structures allow the
removal of 10 million US$ of working capital. Following on from this project EMS has been invited to roll out the programme across
the company’s other sites.
